It is my sad duty to report to the brotherhood the untimely death of our friend and Brother James Connellan. The wake will be at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home in Joliet this Sunday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Catholic funeral mass will be on Monday at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Minooka, Il. at 10 a.m. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Minooka with luncheon following. Directions can be found on the Fred Dames Funeral Home website.
We would like to encourage all CAC members to show up in large support of Jim at 3pm on Sunday.
At the request of Jim’s widow, donations should be made to either of the Chicago Alumni Chapter Scholarships (Thomas M. Mocella Collegiate Scholarship or H. G. Gig Wright Graduate Fellowship) in lieu of flowers.
Jim was initiated in to the Alpha Omega Chapter at DePaul University on October 2nd, 1988. Jim’s interest in the Fraternity expanded to include membership in the Chicago Alumni Chapter for 27 consecutive years, and participation in local Regional and Provincial Conferences as well as attendance at 12 Grand Chapter Congresses. Jim also served the Chicago Alumni Chapter for four terms as president and many more years as director. Jim was named CAC Member of the Year in 1999 and was presented with the Order of the Silver Helmet in 2013.
